Matt 24 watch, 179: Hamas rocket targetted at civilians -- one of 200+ in recent days -- hits a home in Israel, killing three [four, including an unborn baby, with a young baby girl wounded] IDF retaliatory strikes hit 200 terrorist targets in Gaza including a Hamas military leader

In the past few days, Hamas-run Gaza has been firing rockets at civilian areas in Israel. As becomes statistically inevitable, one of the over 200 fired got through, hitting what looks like an apartment, killing three and wounding two, [two others being wounded in separate attacks] including a baby girl [U/D: wounded in the fatal attack, daughter of one of the victims].

Over 200 rockets from Gaza batter South, 3 Israelis killed

Terrorist rocket barrage on South continues in aftermath of IDF's launching of operation to root out terror; IAF strikes nearly 200 terror targets in Strip; Palestinians say 13 killed.

Gaza terrorists continued to fire rockets into southern Israel on Thursday morning killing three people and injuring two others in Kiryat Malachi. More than 200 rockets have been fired from Gaza into the South in the 24 hours after the IDF launched a campaign Wednesday to root out the terror infrastructure in the coastal territory, beginning with the targeted killing of Ahmed Jabari, the chief of Hamas's military wing.
MDA paramedics treated five wounded people at the site of the Kiryat Malachi attack, in which a rocket hit a four-story building. Three people were pronounced dead on the scene and two others were suffering moderate injuries, including a baby.
A house in Ashdod and a school in Ofakim near Beersheba also sustained damage from rockets on Thursday morning. Rockets also landed in the Eshkol Regional Council area, Gan Yavne and Ashkelon.
The IDF Spokesman's Office stated the Iron Dome rocket defense system has successfully intercepted more than 80 rockets since the operation began.
 Hamas, of course, is an Iranian cat's paw. The IDF strikes on some 200 terrorist targets -- note the contrast -- suggest that the situation is spinning up into a much bigger confrontation.

 That is also consistent with the precision strike on a car in which a Hamas leader was travelling.

F/N: The Reuters report, here, gives us reason to see why so many say "Al Reuters." Reading it, you would not know that he Israelis are counter-attacking after an initial barrage of 120 rockets and mortar bombs. Similarly, in an AP report we learn that the Palestinian Arabs have gone to the UN to accuse Israel of War Crimes and to have the UN stop the Israeli strikes, but fails to mention the rocketing and mortaring of Israeli civilians that provoked the retaliatory strikes until we hit the fourth paragraph, and this is presented as a statement of the Israeli Ambassador, as opposed to an indisputable fact. [In a dispute between a Muslim and a non-Muslim, the Islamic law assumes that he statement of the latter can be discounted. By failing to state facts as facts in context of statements, AP is failing in its duty of fair and accurate reporting.]  We also do not see a due notice of the provocations in the reports of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood backed President Morsi taking steps to recall Egypt's Ambassador to Israel. It should be noted, that Hamas is actually the Palestinian chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Arab Spring is fast turning into an IslamIST winter, with a wider ME war looming.
