[And, perhaps, the veiled implied complainant(s) need to realise I write as an Afro-Asio-Euro-Caribbean person responding to issues that are handicapping breakthrough and genuine progress in our region -- given the oh so common resort to projection and slander about alleged racism, fascism and the like (where, my first ever political opinion, acquired literally at mother's knee, was against the real Fascism). [And yes, I notice the extra code tagged on to the blog's address, doubtless suppressive of linking, searching etc.])
This is blatantly unacceptable, given our self-evident first duties:
Especially, as I took time to carefully highlight our need to balance the good, bad and ugly, recognising that civilisation is a city-based societal order that (warts and all) . . . as it enables human thriving across generations . . . always holds a basic legitimacy. In case, some lack ability to understand this, it means 1: Western Civilisation warts and all [look up the reference to Cromwell] is legitimate, 2: Aztec Civilisation (certain notorious practices notwithstanding) was legitimate, 3: Islamic Civilisation (with similar caveats and its own need to address troubling issues notwithstanding) is legitimate, 4: The River Valley Civilisations were legitimate, but again, all are/were a wheat and tares mixture, leading to painful, troubling history.
Though, too, any such civilisation is ever subject to needed onward reformation. (But, would be reformers too are as subject to challenge, as are champions of business as usual. This includes, the sobering lesson of Corcyra 427 BC highlighted by Thucydides, that of the Jacobins, Bolsheviks, Fascists and Nazis, and yes, the National Socialist German Worker's Party did mean the S and W-P words.)
Reformation, again, is needed.
Reformation, that requires a sound worldviews base.
Which is difficult, challenging and faces a comparative difficulties challenge across factual adequacy, coherence and balanced explanatory power. All worldviews bristle with difficulties and any large scale human movement faces a wheat and tares challenge. As, Solzhenitsyn is right, the line between good and evil passes through each and every human heart.
Yes, I dare suggest, that redemptive, ethical theism, credibly provides that base. Explaining specifically why.
Where, too, I note a framework, yes, one framed on worldviews, responsible societal mapping and the power of the gospel to spark transformative 4R's > 7M's reformation:
